Bintang United
Bintang United is a non-profit organisation with the aim of providing less fortunate children with an opportunity to better themselves through sport.
Flores is one of the most impoverished areas in Indonesia where the level of unemployment is consistently high. Well documented psychological, social, economic and health effects of unemployment often drive affected children towards negative behaviours such as crime and drugs.
Bintang United aims to provide a positive and healthy environment where children can focus their energy towards their favourite sport, football, instead of negative outlets.
Bintang United also takes the opportunity to instill social and environmental values from a young age by incorporating various educational programs in conjunction with the football programs.
Apart from donations, SportFisher Marine is currently in discussion with the board of Bintang United about establishing an internship program for youths interested in working within the marine industry.
